How we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

1. Data Controller
The controller responsible for personal data collected through this website is Ekocar Avtokleparstvo, Sandi Zankolič s.p., Manžan 5a, 6000 Koper, Slovenia (referred to below as “we” or “Ekocar”). 2. What data we collect
We only collect personal data when you provide it yourself – most commonly through the contact form on the Contact page. This includes:
- your full name,
- email address,
- phone number (optional),
- the content of your message or enquiry,
- photos or documents you choose to attach (optional).
We do not use web analytics tools, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers. Without your active involvement (e.g. submitting a form), we do not collect personal data about you.
3. Purpose of processing and legal basis
Data you submit through the contact form is used solely to:
- respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about it,
- prepare a repair estimate or quote,
- carry out the services you request.
The legal basis for this processing is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, or performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and in some cases our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Data retention
We keep data submitted through the contact form for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship – generally no more than 2 years from your last contact with us, unless a longer retention period is required by law (e.g. accounting and tax regulations).
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be processed by the following providers, who help us run the website and our business:
- our email service provider (Google Workspace / Gmail), through which we receive and send emails related to your enquiry,
- our web hosting provider, where the website is stored,
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited for the Google Maps service, which is only loaded on the site after you accept cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; in those cases, they provide an adequate level of data protection (e.g. via the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

7. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- correct inaccurate data,
- request erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”),

- object to processing,
- data portability,
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

You may also lodge a complaint regarding the processing of your personal data with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec RS), Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, gp.ip@ip-rs.si, or with the supervisory authority in your own EU member state.
8. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the website.
9. Children
This website is not intended to collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected a minor's data, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example due to changes in the law or our services. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
